Bell & Howell Dual 8mm/Super 8 Silent Movie Projector
Bell & Howell Model 497A Super 8 AND Regular 8mm Autoload, Multi-Motion, movie projector with Zoom Lens. This is an updated version of Bell & Howell's popular Design 471 projectors. Some of the features of this nice quality projector:
- Accepts both Super 8 and Regular 8mm film. Lets you easily enjoy both types of movies.
- Forward, Reverse, & Still Picture Control. View movies forward, backwards or single frame.
- 'Multi-Motion' Selector - project movies at 3 different speeds, (in forward or reverse); NORM - 18 frames per second, SLOW - 6 FPS, or STEP - 2 FPS.
- Zoom Lens, (18mm to 30mm, f/1.6) - allows resizing the projected image without changing the projector to screen distance.
- Reel-to-Reel Automatic Threading. Automatically threads onto take-up reel.
- Autoload 400' Take-Up Reel. Holds over 25 minutes of film.
- Tilt Control - Lets you easily adjust projector height.
- Gear-Driven Reel Arms - Quickly fold down for neat fit inside case.
- Self-Contained Carrying Case of rugged all-metal die-cast construction.
The projector has been carefully checked-out running both regular and Super 8mm film and everything works great. From 'Autoload' to 'Rewind', all functions work properly. Includes good working bulb, original Bell & Howell 7-inch take-up reel, a copy of the Owners Manual/Operating Instructions, and a Super 8 spindle adapter. Cosmetically, there are some minor discoloration and finish flaws on the top side of the case. The film loaded in the projector, shown in the picture below, is not included. A nice, clean and smooth running projector that's a pleasure to use. Made in the U.S.A.
