A Leica IIIf 35mm black dial rangefinder camera manufactured in Germany in 1950 or 1951. The camera is in working order but the satin chrome has not aged well. Serial number is 533084. The camera is sold for spares or repair with no returns or guarantee.
The shutter is working on all speeds from 1 second to 1/1000, B and T and the shutter curtains look good. The slow speeds are working well and all speeds sound right but accuracy has not been tested and I suspect the shutter is not opening correctly at the highest speed of 1/1000th. The rangefinder is bright and accurate.
The camera body is in clean overall condition with no dings or damage but the satin chrome is of poor quality and has bubbled and lifted, mainly on the baseplate but also around the edges of the top cover. There are also some light brightmarks to the top cover and the bottom of the baseplate is marked and in poor condition. The vulcanite body covering is in good original condition. With a replacement bottom cover and perhaps a new top cover this could make a good camera body.
Sold with faults as described and with no guarantees or returns.
Offered at a low starting price with no reserve.
