Here is a nice used Redrock M2 35mm lens adapter for your digital video camera. This lets you use 35mm still-camera lenses on a digital video camera, allowing all of the creative control that comes with the wide range of lenses available. These are sometimes referred to as "Depth of Field adapters" (DOF adapters) or "film look adapters" because they also allow the fine control over depth of field that comes with 35mm lenses, as opposed to the everything's-in-focus video look you usually get with the smaller lenses and sensors on most video cameras. The basic operation consists of projecting the image onto a spinning ground glass, which gives the light rays something to focus on (ground glass) without there being a static grainy pattern (thus the spinning). Through the use of a close-up lens (achromat), the video camera focuses on that projected image and high quality images into your video camera. For info, see the website of the manufacturer (redrock.com).
Depending on which camera you're using, this auction includes everything you need for the Panasonic HVX200 (the camera I was using). I purchased the HD cinematographer's kit.
Auction bundle includes:
-M2 Cinema Lens Adapter
-Hard carrying case with lock
-72mm HD achromat
-PL lens mount
-2 18" stainless steel iris rods
-support system
-external power supply
-lens support
-accessory pod
-shim kit
-72mm-82mm step-up ring
-screw kit
-strap to block excess light
-instruction booklet
This unit is in mint condition and I am only selling it to raise money for another project of mine. I can't say enough good things about the M2. I am NOT including any lenses. The case is a little beat up, but just the case. I used this unit to shoot an entire period-piece feature (called Lost River-shameless plug). Again, this is for use with Nikon lenses. I will ship worldwide via UPS ground, but understand it will be costly. I will only charge to cost of UPS packing it and shipping it, nothing more, but be aware I will have it packed for me as I do not want anything to happen to it in transit. Please do not ask me how much shipping is because I can not figure it for everyone. Be aware it is slightly heavy and in the case, it wil be a large item. International shipping will be Priority Mail USPS.
Feel free to email any questions and I'll answer them as best and quickly as I can. Good luck!
