My competitors started selling a comparable model of inferior quality. their model has a regular sized chest piece, not a large one like this model; the workmanship of their units is inferior, please see pictures at the bottom. please notice the difference Attention! This is an auction for a support with the largest chest piece among three models I sell (the left one on the picture below). I believe bigger camcorders benefit from larger chest pieces, and many of my customers worldwide prefer this model specifically. All of those supports are advertised as hands free. It is an exaggeration in all three cases but The model with the largest chest piece is certainly by far the most stable when you let you hands go. There are so many customers that prefer that model that I have no hesitation to claim that extra money would be well spent. The model with the regular chest piece is sold by most retailers (with worse manufacturing quality though). It is designed similar to the model with the largest chest piece and is reasonable compromise (my prices are unbeatable), you save about $5. The model with the smallest chest piece has its unique set of advantages and you save quite a lot of money – about $10, you can easily use it with small modern camcorders.

Personally, I find the Shoulder Pad the most helpful when I use it as substitution for the tripod. The following fragments, Burlap Mask Presentation (2Mb) and Commedia dell'Arte (4Mb show Shoulder Pad in action. Please, notice that I was able to move around a little, I my breathing is noticeable but not disturbing at all. I created the following table comparing the Shoulder Pad with a tripod:

You can see from this table that I do find the Shoulder Pad often more convenient and beneficial than a regular tripod, and my opinion is shared by others. For instance, one of my customers suggested to use it as a support when you interview people – often a tripod is too stable, you cannot move with it, and holding a camera in hands turns into a torture in 10 minutes.

It is lightweight and sturdy. There is a soft spring between the part that goes to your chest and a hook-like part that goes over your shoulder. The strap that goes around your body is adjustable and can be easily disconnected in three places. The hook-like part is cushioned with a about quarter inch layer of rubberized material. The picture on the left shows that this shoulder support has a much larger pad that goes to your chest. While a regular supports can also be used with larger and heavier semi-professional camcorders, this enlarged model is very beneficial to reduce pressure on your chest. With shipping, it cost only a little more than other models, and I believe it is worth the money.

Though it is possible to mount the camcorder in two positions, closer and further from you; I suggest a closer position as much more stable (it is not the on one the photograph). Furthermore, there are three pieces in the area where the camera is mounted, there can be assembled in variety of ways; I, for instance, took one of the pieces out.

Shipping and handling.
I sell a lot internationally (please pay no attention to the list of the countries, I ship worldwide) and price structure on this item reflects the needs of international customers. For the US customers I suggest considering low total price rather than focusing on shipping cost itself. Shipping and handling has several discounts built in. All other photo/video related items will add only $2 for most items and $4 for heavier ones if I ship them with the support. • Canada Shipping to Canada is $22.01. There is no option to send several items airmail to Canada, so I have to upgrade to Global Express Mail (EMS). Two items to Canada $47 and each additional item is just $12.
• Worldwide: I will ship worldwide for $33.01. There is no option to send several items airmail for international shipping, so I have to upgrade to Global Express Mail (EMS). Two items world wide via EMS is $59 with $17 for each additional item.
• MexicoShipping to Mexico has $4 off the first unit, $2 off each consecutive unit.
• A special note for customers from Italy – use express shipping even for one unit to Italy because I had too many problems with Italian post. The difference allows tracking. I reserve the right to request express shipping to other countries with unreliable mail (as I view it), e.g. China.
